Two Australian Championships On The Line
Author : Archerfield Speedway
Not one but two Australian Champions will be crowned this week at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway with both Midget and AMCA Nationals drivers chasing victory in their respective Championships across two nights of racing action at Qld's Home Of Speedway this special Australia Day weekend.
The Australian Midget Championship has drawn the interest of not only three of the country's best in Nathan Smee, Mark Brown and Troy Jenkins but also five-time New Zealand Midget Champion Michael Kendall and legendary American racer Dave Darland who will jet into Brisbane later this week especially for the event.
Qld's best chances of securing the Championship would have to lie with Anthony Chaffey who won the opening Round of the POWRi Super Series in Brisbane back in October, taking a popular home-town win over Kendall and Smee in the event.
Likewise, the AMCA Nationals Championship will bring together close to fifty of the class' top drivers from around Australia to do battle for the coveted crown, with a number of Qld drivers amongst the best in the business and well placed for the Title win in front of their home-town fans. The Championship was last held at Archerfield in 2009.
Both night's programmes include support class racing with Sunday night's show also featuring a Caravan, Boat And Dunny Race and a special Australia Day Fireworks spectacular. Tickets are available online through the track website at brisbanespeedway.com.au
