With the annual Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway Sumer Of Speed successfully completed for another year, - and fittingly topped off by James McFadden's well-deserved victory in the Australian Sprintcar Championship this past weekend - the venue now turns its focus to the remaining events on the 2012/13 season schedule which includes a number of high profile events still to be contested.
One of those events is the Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship which is set to be held in April and some of the more fancied contenders for the Championship will continue their preparation and quest for the National crown this Saturday night when the Dirt Modifieds and Wingless Sprints headline a full programme of racing at Qld's Home Of Speedway.
Reigning Australian Champion Mark Robinson and three-time Australian Champ Peter Britten will renew their on-track rivalry but will also have their hands full in their bids to win Saturday night's Feature against the likes of Andrew Pezzutti, David Clarke and Kevin Britten, all of who have a more than legitimate shot at a victory of their own.
Peter Britten is a last start winner at Archerfield, having won the inaugural Paul Britten 44 Memorial Feature in honour of his late father on New Year's night while in the Wingless Sprints class, Jarvis Menzies captured the win in a very entertaining Feature race on January 10, holding off the repeated challenges of Formula 500 Champion Charlie Brown and Mick Santin for his first Feature win of the season at Archerfield.
General admission gates open at 4:00PM on Saturday with early racing from approximately 4:30PM and the main programme from 6:00PM. Adults tickets are just $23.00, children 5-12 years $6.00 with Family passes providing entry for two adults and two children under 12 only $50.00.
