Massive Month Of Racing Ahead At Archerfield Speedway

When David "Blingy" Muir stole the Feature race victory from World Of Outlaws Champion Donny Schatz at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway on Saturday night by the barest of margins, it signalled the end of racing at the venue for 2012 and what a way it was to close out the year. The good news however is there is a massive month of racing ahead at Qld's Home Of Speedway and it starts on New Year's Night with Sprintcars, V8 Dirt Modifieds, the Lil' Car Demo Derby, Fireworks and a whole lot more on the programme!
The January 1 show at the Speedway kicks off what is undoubtedly a huge month at Archerfield and a very important one on the Australian Speedway calendar with major events including the World Series Australian Sprintcar Open, the Capalaba Wreckers Sprintcar Cup and of course the Australian Sprintcar Championship.
While Schatz and compatriot Jack Dover have been racing in Brisbane since Boxing Night, they will be joined by a number of their fellow Americans later this week for the Open and Capalaba Wreckers events including World Series Sprintcars contracted drivers Shane Stewart and Tim Kaeding. Plus there will be a huge line-up of Australian stars including McFadden, Tatnell, Farr, and Brazier and local aces Muir, Scheuerle, Wanless and Reidy to name just a few.
The Australian Sprintcar Championship, the jewel in the crown for Sprintcar drivers from around the country, has drawn close to sixty entries and will be contested over three days on January 10/11/12. It goes without saying this is one of the most anticipated and prestigious events on the national speedway calendar each and every year.
But it's not just Sprintcars enjoying the limelight at Archerfield during January with the Australian Modlite Championship, the Australian Midget Championship and the Australian AMCA Nationals Championship also being decided at the venue over the course of the next month.
Online ticketing is still available for selected shows via the Speedway's website at brisbanespeedway.com.au (Visa/MasterCard accepted) with pre-purchase ticket holders being granted early admission to the grounds at each event.
