Blue Skies Ahead Of Tonight's International Races At Archerfield

Brisbane race fans have woken to crisp blue skies this morning ahead of tonight's second International Sprintcar event at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway featuring Americans Donny Schatz and Jack Dover, with the two Sprintcar aces being joined by compatriot TJ Hartman and New Zealand star Michael Kendall who will both compete in the Polar Ice Midget Car Series portion of the programme.
Both Schatz and Dover will be seeking better results after analysing their Boxing Night runs at Archerfield where Schatz finished fifth in the thirty-five lap KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship Feature and Dover recorded a DNF after leading the event early. Thirty Qld drivers stand between them and the top step of the podium tonight, all of who will be looking to not only finish in front of the Americans if they can but who will also be chasing valuable points of their own towards the KRE Series crown.
Michael Kendall is quickly becoming the man to beat in not only the Midgets at Archerfield but also the Modlites, the five time New Zealand Midget Champion posting Feature race wins in both classes at Archerfield already this season and he currently leads the Qld Club Championship in the Midget and sits second in Polar Ice points behind Grant Draney. Hartman, from Washington State, makes his second appearance in the #59 Spike tonight having finished eleventh in the Feature on December 15.
Tonight's programme of events at Archerfield also includes Fireworks, Double Decker Car races, Wingless Sprints and support class racing. General admission just $28.00 for Adults with Kids 5-10 years $10.00, gates open from 3:45PM, early racing from 4:30PM and main programme from 6:00PM.
