KRE 5: Ian Madsen Is Your Winner
Author : Archerfield Speedway
NSW Sprintcar driver Ian Madsen made up for any disappointment he may have felt with his second place finish in Round 3 of the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship in early November with a resounding win in the fifth Round of the Championship at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway on Saturday night December 15.
Starting on the front row, Madsen trailed Todd Wanless early before taking over the point and then held off a number of challenges from David Murcott late in the race to hold on for the win in the thirty lap Feature event. Murcott battled hard but eventually had to settle for second ahead of Wanless with defending Series Champion Bryan Mann fourth and Darrell Hodges fifth.
In other results, Matt Greenwood won his first Feature of the season in the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series. Greenwood won from Michael Kendall with Darren Vine in third.
Sprintcar racing continues at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway on Boxing Night featuring World Of Outlaws Champion Donny Schatz, who will be making the first of six appearances at the raceway this Summer, and American compatriot Jack Dover who will be making his debut at the venue.
