Inaugural Ian Boettcher 5000 Event At Archerfield

The inaugural Ian Boettcher 5000 Super Sedan event is to be hosted by Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway this Saturday night December 1, the event recognising the invaluable contribution the Ipswich business identity has made to the sport over the past five decades.
Ian Boettcher is a name synonymous with speedway sedan competition and this event is a fitting tribute to a man who has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as the principal behind a team that has produced multiple Australian Championship victories, multiple Queensland Championships and a plethora of wins in blue ribbon events and major championships around Australia, including the prestigious National Super Sedan Series.
A long-time supporter of speedway racing in a variety of capacities, Ian continues to make a significant contribution to Speedway through his generous sponsorship of speedway events and race teams while also assisting the sport through his roles as a Club administrator.
Established by the Super Sedan Association this season with a view to the event being run on an annual basis, competitors racing in the Ian Boettcher 5000 will qualify for the night's main event through a series of qualifying races with the winner of the forty lap Feature pocketing a cool $5000.00 for their efforts.
A number of companies have contributed to the prize money pool through lap sponsorship packages, with the event also attracting national interest and to be televised on the popular Chequered Flag programme on SPEEDTV/Fox Sports in the coming weeks.
Saturday night's event at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway includes Lightning Sprints, Wingless Sprints, ASCF Junior Sedans, Formula 500's, Stockcars and BIS Sedans. General admission gates open from 4.00PM, early racing from 4.30PM, main programme from 6.00PM.

Parking is available at the track for $3.00. Racing finishes by 10.30pm.
