Speed Thrills For Struggling Kids

Article courtesy of David Grose: Former Aussie speedway greats will be coming out of retirement this Saturday night (Nov 24th) at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway for a once only event that promises more spills than thrills.
State and National champions will be strapping themselves in for one thunderous return to the golden days of motor racing as Australia’s best drivers get set to burn up the track.
Bathurst winner Alan Grice and multiple Australian Super Sedan champions Johnny Leslight, Alan Butcher, Jamie McHugh, Nev Pezzutti , Len Hennesy together with Sprintcar champions Bob Kelly, John Kelly and Speedcar champions Jack Berry and David Grose will all slam on their helmets one last time after decades of driving in the slow lane.
The veteran rookies will hit the track for a practice session on Thursday, then it’s the “Kratzman Caravans Modlite Masters" on Saturday night with all proceeds including prize pool going to Student Care Queensland.
With over 30 titles amongst the drivers this promises to not only be a wonderful spectacular for fans of speedway, but also a great way to help a great cause - organisers are aiming to raise thousands of dollars for troubled and disadvantaged children in desperate need of assistance.

Saturday night's event at Archerfield also includes the Lucky 7's Sprintcar event with Farr, McFadden, Brazier amongst the entries, the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series featuring American Alex Bright, Modlites, Fireworks for the kids and Australia's first ever Double Decker Car Race!

General admission gates open 4:00pm, early racing from 4:45pm, main programme from 6:00pm.
Parking is available at the track for $3.00. Racing finishes by 10.30pm.
Programmed events include: Sprintcars, Midgets, Fireworks, Modlites, Celebrity Modlites, Double Decker Car Race.
