Six Straight Weeks Of Sprintcar Racing Starts Saturday

With the calendar ticking over to November, Sprintcar fans living north of the Tweed River - and those from interstate who are not adverse to a little travel to get their fix of racing - will be busy circling dates and planning their schedules with six big weeks of Sprintcar racing ahead of them and it all kicks off this Saturday night at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway.
Three Rounds of the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship and three Lucky 7's events in Brisbane, Maryborough and Toowoomba in the lead-up to Christmas is the ideal preparation for drivers and teams who will then go on to compete in the six nights of the Summer Of Speed programme at Archerfield against the likes of American Donny Schatz before challenging for the Australian Sprintcar Championship at the same venue on January 10-12. There's definitely no shortage of racing in the coming months for fans to attend!
The KRE Track Championship events held so far this season have attracted their fair share of interstate drivers and this weekend's race is no different with NSW well represented by Ian Madsen, Jeremy Cross and Andrew Wright who will be joined by Victorian Jamie Veal in a bid to claim a KRE win over the Qld regulars.
The list of interstate drivers is also expected to swell later this month when the Archerfield raceway hosts the second of the three Lucky 7's events on November 24. With $7000 to win on the line and valuable seat time at the track where the Australian Championship will be determined early in the New Year, it's a big carrot dangling in front of Sprintcar drivers that are up for the challenge.
Thirty drivers have nominated for Saturday night's Sprintcar event, with the programme also featuring Late Models, AMCA Nationals, Modlites and support class racing. General admission gates open at 4:00pm, early racing from 4:30pm, main programme from 6:00pm.
