Madsen Adds His Name To KRE Feature Race Contenders

Ian Madsen from NSW is the latest driver to add his name to the list of interstate competitors taking the opportunity to get some early season racing in at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway ahead of the Australian Sprintcar Championship at the venue in January, the vastly experienced Madsen heading to Brisbane this weekend to contest Round 3 of the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship.
Madsen has been carving out a name for himself both in Australia and the United States the past few years with impressive results in major races on both sides of the Pacific and has runs on the board at Archerfield where he previously finished fifth in a World Series Sprintcars event against the best in the land. Madsen will fly the flag for NSW on Saturday night alongside Jeremy Cross who won the Dash in Round 2 of the KRE Championship earlier this month before finishing third in the night's Feature event.
A good field of thirty drivers have nominated as of Monday lunchtime for this weekend's event with just eighteen drivers to face the starter's green flag after qualifying their way through the early part of the night. Leading the list of regulars are point leader Todd Wanless and Andrew Scheuerle, who won the opening two Rounds respectively, Danny Reidy, Terry Bracken, Peter Lack and Darren Jensen who also complete the top six positions in the Championship at this early stage of the season.
Saturday night's programme includes AMCA Nationals, ASCF Junior Sedans and support class racing. Gates open at 4:00PM, main programme from 6:00PM.
