Saturday The First Of Ten Nights For V8 Dirt Modifieds

Saturday night's event at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway is the first of ten nights of racing for the V8 Dirt Modifieds at Qld's Home Of Speedway this season, the obvious highlight being the highly anticipated Australian V8 Dirt Modified Championship to be staged at the venue across two nights on May 4/5 2013.
While only sixteen Dirt Modified drivers have filed their nominations for this weekend's event, it is a quality field and one that is a mix of youth and experience. Andrew Pezzutti and Ray Klarich may have turned more laps than almost anyone in the class through the years and have been rewarded for their efforts along the way while the youth of the sport are also well represented by the likes of David Clarke and Kevin Britten, two drivers who have taken the Dirt Modified scene by storm in recent years with multiple victories between them.
This week's programme at Archerfield includes the opening Round of the POWRi Super Series for Midgets with American young guns Alex Bright and Andrew Felker taking on the best of the Aussies in Mark Brown, Nathan Smee and Troy Jenkins from NSW plus Qld standouts Brendan Palmer, Grant Draney and Anthony Chaffey.
The Midgets will also run a second Feature during the course of the programme, a make-up race for the rain-affected meeting on September 29 which will carry points towards the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series Championship.
Plus there are Modlites, Lightning Sprints and support class Sedans too. Pre-programme racing gets underway at 4:45PM with the main programme due to start at 6:00PM. Adult general admission tickets $25.00, kids under 12 just $6.00 and off-street parking is available at the track for just $3.00.
