Is This Bryan Mann's Year?
Author : Archerfield Speedway

He's been in contention for the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship pretty much since the start of the season, has been embroiled in a battle for the top spot with Andrew Scheuerle and David Muir for most of this calendar year and now with just three Rounds remaining, Bryan Mann may quite possibly be starting to eye off a maiden Series Title. So the question can be asked; Is this Bryan Mann's year?

Bryan has acquitted himself well throughout the season and while he is still chasing that elusive KRE Feature win for 2011/12, he has rarely placed outside the top five in Series events and it's on the back of those performances that he carries an eighty-eight point lead into this Saturday night's thirteenth Round of the Championship at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway. Time spent on the road chasing World Series Sprintcars races in seasons past has taught Bryan plenty and the fruits of that work is now on show.

By contrast Muir has four KRE A-Main victories at Archerfield and seven top fives but has also suffered some huge point losses when he has crashed out of contention in the Features. Scheuerle, who has one win for the season and sits third in points, is a multi-time Series winner and has shown in the past that consistency and finishing races is the key to a Championship. Perhaps this philosophy has rubbed off a little on Mann? Don't get it wrong however, the chase of Championship honours is far from over even though Mann appears to be in the box seat and every point earned in the final three Rounds could prove to be vital in the final standings.

Just to spice things up a little and keep all the Series regulars on their toes, former Australian Champions Garry Brazier and James McFadden along with current WA Champ Jason Kendrick have put their hand up to compete at Archerfield as well this weekend. Their nominations, and that of Matt Young in the second Rocket Industries car out of NSW, bolster the field to twenty-seven which is great news for fans heading out to Qld's Home Of Speedway for the races tomorrow night.
