Western Australian Champ Heading To Archerfield

Jason Kendrick is set to make the long trip across the country to Qld this week to compete in Round 13 of the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship, the Western Australian Sprintcar Champion adding his name to what is quickly growing to be a very formidable list of drivers for Saturday night's event at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway.
Kendrick, who won his maiden WA Title in the fiftieth running of the event during March at the Perth Motorplex, will drive the #51 J&J previously driven by Pete Thorley this season. Kendrick's inclusion bolsters a field of twenty-seven drivers that already boasts names such as World Series Sprintcars Champion James McFadden, six time Australian Champion Garry Brazier from NSW, the "Rock Star" Danny Reidy and leading Qld drivers Bryan Mann, Andrew Scheuerle, David Muir, Darren Jensen and Todd Wanless.
Brazier, one of the all time greats of Australian Sprintcar racing, returns to Qld with team mate Matt Young in the two Rocket Industries backed cars for the second time in a fortnight, this time with more favourable weather conditions forecast after unfortunately not turning a wheel at Qld's Home Of Speedway on April 28.
With just three Rounds remaining on the 2011/12 KRE Track Championship schedule, Bryan Mann continues to lead the points ahead of Muir and Scheuerle with Darren Jensen and Steven White holding onto fourth and fifth respectively. The final two Rounds will be held at Archerfield on May 26 and June 16.
Saturday night's programme also includes Lightning Sprints, Late Models, Compact Speedcars, Modlites and Outlaw Sedans with general admission gates open from 4:00PM, early racing from 4:45PM and the main programme scheduled for a 6:00PM start.
