Onley Overnight Leader In Australian Super Sedan Title

Article courtesy of ASCF Speedway Sedans: New South Wales driver, Lachlan Onley, leads after the opening night of the SuperCheap Auto Australian Super Sedan Title at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane.

Onley, is unbeaten after the opening night, set up by a staggering performance in his opening heat, where he won after starting from position ten. Michael Hally would finish second in the opening heat while Gary Pagel would finish third. Both started on the second row of the grid. Shane Best who started on pole, struggled and finished fifth, as did Mick Nicola Jnr, who started from five and finished eighth.

Veteran Wayne Randall led all the way in heat two, downing Jason Campbell and Craig Torr. Campbell and Torr started from positions six and eleven respectively, and drove brilliantly to finish in the top three in a race littered with incidents, with several cars spinning throughout the race. “The track is great, there is a bottom line and the top will start to come on as the night goes on”, said Randall after the win.

Night two of the Supercheap Auto Australian Super Sedan Championship continues Sunday May 6 at Archerfield Speedway. Tonight's programme also includes the Polar Ice Midget Car Series, Fireworks, Formula 500s, Stockcars and Ford vs. Holden Sedans.

Event Information:

The Australian Super Sedan Championship at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway is a multi-day event. Online ticketing is available through the Speedway's website at brisbanespeedway.com.au (Visa and MasterCard accepted - online ticketing facility available until 2:00PM race day) with pre-purchased ticket holders admitted to the grounds prior to ticket boxes opening on race day. ATM machines will be onsite at this event, note there are no EFTPOS or credit card facilities at the venue.

General admission gates open 4:00pm, early racing from approximately 4:30pm, main programme from 6:00pm.
Parking is available at the track for $3.00. Racing finishes by 10.30pm.
