Super Sedan Drivers Converge On Brisbane For Australian Championship
Author : Archerfield Speedway

Forty-five Super Sedan drivers from across Australia will converge on Brisbane this week for the Australian Super Sedan Championship with festivities kicking off on Thursday at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway with scrutineering and practise sessions at the track followed by two nights of explosive door-to-door racing on Saturday and Sunday nights to determine the 2012 National Champion.

Drivers representing Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales will cross the Tweed River this week to enter the State of Qld with two things on their mind; win the Title and in doing so prevent the continuation of the exemplary results Qld-based drivers have recorded in the event over the past five years.

Steve Jordan is the defending Champion, having won the Title at Latrobe Speedway in Tasmania last year and in the years prior the trophy came back to Qld in the hands of Jamie McHugh (2010/2008), Darren Kane (2009) and Michael Gee (2007). If history is to remain on Qld's side, another omen is that Gold Coast driver John McGeorge claimed victory in the Championship the last time the Title was decided at Archerfield in 1994 and Ian Marshall also captured the number one at the venue way back in 1988.

Saturday night's racing includes Championship qualifying events, AMCA Nationals, ASCF Junior Sedans and support class racing while Sunday night's programme includes the Championship Final, Fireworks, Midgets, Formula 500s and support class racing.

For fans travelling to Brisbane for the Australian Super Sedan Championship, the Comfort Inn And Suites Robertson Gardens is only minutes from the Speedway, offers exceptional service and facilities and is the venue of choice for many leading teams when staying in Brisbane.
