Feast Of Open Wheel Racing For Fans At Archerfield
Author : Archerfield Speedway
There's an absolute feast of open wheel racing awaiting fans at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway this Saturday night April 28 with not only the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship on the programme but also the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series and the Wingless Sprint Fifty Lapper plus Lightning Sprints, Micro Sprints and support class racing.
James McFadden, the 2011/12 World Series Sprintcars Champion and the young man that put on a great show for the fans in last Saturday night's Qld Championship, heads a list of nominations that includes Series leader Bryan Mann, defending Series Champion Andrew Scheuerle and David Muir who returns to Archerfield this week after riding out a huge crash in the Qld Title decider.
Brendan Palmer is in the box seat to wrap up his first Polar Ice Series Championship this Saturday night but will need a good result against the likes of Brock Dean, Grant Draney, last start winner Jeremy Hassell, March 31 winner Michael Kendall and Todd Wanless to do so. Palmer leads all drivers on the win list this season with three victories and has rarely placed out of the top five at Archerfield since taking over the seat of the #92 Spike/Hawk for Jack Berry Racing.
Race fitness could be the telling factor this Saturday night when the Wingless Sprint drivers take to the track for an arduous Fifty Lap Sprintcar Feature. Daniel Moes, the reigning Qld Champion in the class, has been in exceptional form this season and has six Feature wins to his credit so far and will start as one of the favourites in the race.
Fans coming along to Saturday night's event will also be able to track the progress throughout the evening of at three drivers who will compete in more than one class. Both David Muir and Brett Thomas have nominated for the Sprintcar and Wingless Sprint events while Todd Wanless will compete in both of these plus the Midget races.
Early racing from 4:30PM this Saturday with the main programme scheduled for a 6:00PM start following the National Anthem. Adults just $25.00, Kids $6.00 and Family passes available for only $50.00.
