World Series Champ To Contest Qld Sprintcar Championship
Author : Archerfield Speedway

Just a few short years ago, James McFadden was tagged as the "next big thing" in Australian Sprintcar racing, the type of tag that gets handed out sometimes a little too easily in all types of sport. James however lived up to the hype and expectations placed upon him and has more than kept up his end of the bargain with victories in major events and Championships around the country.

Consider just part of his record in recent times and some of the Titles he has won . . . the Qld Sprintcar Championship, the Australian Sprintcar Championship, World Series Sprintcars Speedweek, the World Series Sprintcars Championship, not to mention numerous A-Main victories in pretty much every part of the country. Put simply, James is no longer the "next big thing" and hasn't been for a while, he has well and truly arrived !

This Saturday night at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, James will attempt to cap off his remarkable season in which he became the first non-contracted driver to win the World Series Sprintcar Championship with victory in the 2012 Qld Sprintcar Championship, one of the nation's most time-honoured Speedway events and one that has been won by a myriad of the greats of Qld and Australian Sprintcar racing.

An added challenge for James is he will campaign an unfamiliar car this weekend after accepting an offer from the Paul Morris Motorsport operation to drive the team's #67 Supercheap Auto J&J Sprintcar in the Championship event. James however is a young driver who rises naturally to the challenges in front of him and the #67 is as good a car as any in the field so a second Qld Title for James is a very real possibility come the chequered flags on Saturday night.

Twenty-seven nominations have been received so far for this year's State Title, including all of Qld's best and one from New Zealand in Jamie McDonald who is a former NZ Champion and has previously raced extensively in the United States.

Online ticketing for Saturday night's Championship event is available through the Speedway's website at brisbanespeedway.com.au with Adults just $27.00, Kids 5-12 years $8.00 and Family Passes exceptional value at only $65.00.
