Archerfield Speedway To Host Easter Tri - City Shootout Event
Author : Archerfield Speedway

Easter is now just days away and with it comes the annual East Coast Logistics Tri-City Sprintcar Shootout event, presented by Tyrepower, this special Easter Saturday night April 7 at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, Qld's Home Of Speedway !

A field of close to forty drivers from across Australia and New Zealand will converge on the Archerfield raceway this weekend for night two of the Shootout, with former Australian and World Series Sprintcars Champion and defending Shootout winner Robbie Farr leading the charge alongside NSW standout and Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winner Ian Loudon.

Farr, who hails from New South Wales but who now calls WA home, and Loudon are regular visitors north of the Tweed for major events at Archerfield and both have done particularly well for themselves in Qld in the past. Farr though is not the only driver making the long trek across the country for this Saturday night's event with Qld'er Cameron Gessner also returning from his new home in the west for the Shootout.

Qld will be represented by a number of drivers who are more than capable of holding off any of the interstate challengers seeking to make a name for themselves on Qld soil, with KRE Race Engines Track Championship contenders Bryan Mann, David "Blingy" Muir and Andrew Scheuerle leading a stellar field of locals that includes Gessner, Darren Jensen, Pete Thorley, Peter Lack, Todd Wanless, Kevin Titman and Darrell Hodges who returns to racing this weekend.

Danny Reidy, who races with NT on his car in recognition of his roots but has lived for some time in the Sunshine State, has put a Summer on the road travelling the country chasing World Series races and other major events behind him and is yet another driver who could make his way to the podium come the end of Saturday night's Shootout Feature.

The lone "Shaky Isles" representative is Ray Baughan and while his name may not be that familiar to local fans, he does bring a sixth place finish in the recent New Zealand Sprintcar Championship behind Americans Sammy Swindell, Jonathan Allard and Austen Wheatley to Brisbane with him. North Qld will be well represented by Aiden Gee, David Muir and Rob Muscat while South Australian Brendan Kelly will make his Qld debut this weekend and is a welcome addition to the field.

Saturday night's event at Archerfield, the second of the three Tri-City Shootout races which are also being held in Maryborough and Toowoomba, also features Wingless Sprints and Qld Title races for Ford v Holden Sedans, BIS Sedans and Sigmas on the programme plus a huge Easter Fireworks Spectacular.

Online ticketing is available for this special Easter show through the Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway website at brisbanespeedway.com.au , with the advance ticket purchasing option open until 1:00pm on race day and providing ticket holders earlier admission to the grounds.
