K R E 12 Kicks Off Big Schedule Of Sprintcar Racing
Author : Archerfield Speedway
This Saturday night's twelfth Round of the 2011/12 KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship kicks off a big schedule of racing for the Sprintcars at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, with two KRE events, a Tri-City Shootout race and the Qld Sprintcar Title all to be decided at Qld's Home Of Speedway during a five week period across March and April.
As the business end of the season rapidly closes in, the chase for the KRE Series crown is heating up and the results of Saturday night's event could go a long way to determining this year's Champion. Bryan Mann continues to lead the Series as Andrew Scheuerle rockets back into contention after a win on March 10 and David Muir contemplates what may have been after crashing out of the same event as he tried for three Series A-Main victories in a row.
The annual Tri-City Shootout races hit the track at Archerfield on Easter Saturday (April 7) with nationally ranked drivers Robbie Farr and Ian Loudon amongst the early nominations for the event. Farr is the defending Tri-City Shootout Champion and won the corresponding event at Archerfield last year.
Farr is also the reigning Qld Sprintcar Champion and his Title goes on the line in Brisbane on April 21. Robbie will be seeking a three-peat of wins in the event having also won the Championship in 2010 and given his success in the Sunshine State in recent years, he will be hard pressed to be beaten in this year's event.
Wrapping up the five weeks of Sprintcar racing will be Round 13 of the KRE Series on April 28, with the final two Rounds of the season-long Championship scheduled for May 12 and 26.
