Plenty Of Racing On The Programme At Archerfield
Author : Archerfield Speedway
Saturday night is Speedway Night and there's plenty of racing on the programme for fans attending Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway this weekend with the Super Sedans, AMCA Nationals and Wingless Sprints heading up a diverse mix of classes that also includes Track Championship events for the Ford v Holden, Sigmas, Open and Outlaw Sedans.
It's the final Super Sedans event at Archerfield before the best and fastest drivers in the country converge on Qld's Home Of Speedway for the Australian Super Sedan Championship in their bid for the right to wear the coveted Number 1 on the door as the 2012 Champ. The Championship will be held at Archerfield the first weekend in May.
Qld-based drivers have a long history of success in the National Title and they will be hell bent on not only continuing that run but also keeping the Championship crown in the Sunshine State for another year. Saturday night's races will give us a glimpse of just who may emerge as the Champion with four serious contenders in Darren Kane, Wayne Brims, Matt Pascoe and Wayne Randall amongst the nominations for the Brisbane Super Sedan Series event.
The AMCA Nationals and Wingless Sprints are without doubt two of the success stories of Australian Speedway over the past decade, providing plenty of close wheel to wheel action for the fans each and every time they roll out onto the race track.
Matt Hardy will chase his third AMCA Feature win of the season on Saturday night but will need to fend off the challenges of the likes of Russ Hardy, Steve Potts, Eric Knight and last start Archerfield winner Andrew Robinson to do so. Reigning Qld Champion Daniel Moes has been almost untouchable of late in the Wingless Sprints and is shooting for four consecutive victories while Wayne Lemon will be out to maintain his lead in the Series point score.
General admission gates open at 4:00pm tomorrow with early racing from 4:45pm and the main programme scheduled to start at 6:00pm. Adults just $25.00, kids five to twelve years $6.00.
