K R E Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship Update

Only four Rounds remain in the chase for the 2011/12 KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship crown at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway and it's game on with defending Series winner Andrew Scheuerle climbing to second in the standings as he makes a late bid for back-to-back Titles.
The winner of the eleventh Round of the Championship last Saturday night, Scheuerle has edged David Muir by just seven points on the back of the race win which paid double points towards the Championship while Muir's DNF in the Feature has momentarily halted the momentum he was building in his chase to catch Series leader Bryan Mann.
Interestingly, out of all the regular competitors in the Championship, it is Mann and Scheuerle who have taken advantage of the double points Rounds the most by scoring well above their rivals on both nights. Muir, Darren Jensen and Peter Lack have each come away with very good points hauls in at least one of the double points Rounds but haven't been able to match the performances of Mann and Scheuerle across both and therein lies one of the reasons the two sit atop the leader board.
Mann on paper currently holds a commanding one hundred and twelve point lead over Scheuerle (696-584) but under the Series regulations where each driver drops their worst Round at the completion of the fifteenth and final Round, that lead is theoretically reduced to seventy-four points when the adjustment takes place. It is a points difference that will keep Mann striving to score as many points as possible to hold off the advances of both Scheuerle and Muir through the final Rounds.
Sitting in fourth place and in contention for a top three finish is Darren Jensen with Steven White holding onto fifth by a mere three points from Kevin Titman. Dan Murray, Peter Lack, Paul Rooks and Todd Wanless complete the top ten drivers in the Championship to date.
