Maroons V Blues In Archerfield Demo Derby

It's that time of year again, time to dig out your favourite team jersey as the footy codes kick off their 2012 seasons and begin the chase for supremacy on the sporting field. It's also time for the first representative match up of the year with the annual Maroons v Blues Demolition Derby set to take place at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway next Saturday night March 10 and the Maroons are ready to do battle.
The Demo Derby is a tradition at the Speedway dating back well over three decades and in recent years the event has taken on some extra spice with the Maroons v Blues format being introduced. And just like Mal Meninga's Maroons, the drivers representing Qld have done the State proud by winning the last six encounters and they aim to make it seven in a row at the Archerfield racing complex next weekend.
The March 10 event is a big one, featuring not only the Demolition Derby but also the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship, the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series with drivers from as far as New Zealand and Western Australia competing plus support class racing and a huge fireworks show for the kids all on the one programme.
Online ticketing is available for this event through the Speedway's website at brisbanespeedway.com.au with Adult general admission tickets just $27.00, Kids 13-15 years $15.00 and Family passes (two adults + two kids) only $65.00. Gates open from 4:00pm, early racing from 4:45pm with the main programme starting at 6:00pm following the National Anthem.

General admission gates open 4:00pm, early racing from 4:45pm, main programme from 6:00pm. Parking is available at the track for $3.00. Racing finishes by 10.30pm.
Programmed events include: Maroons v Blues Demolition Derby, Fireworks, Sprintcars, Midgets, Modlites, Compacts and Stockcars.
