Archerfield Programme Cut Short
Author : Archerfield Speedway
The rain showers may have been light and intermittent but unfortunately they were also persistent enough to cut short tonight's racing programme at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway with the event being called prior to the finals of the both the Crossley Racing Engines V8 Dirt Modified Series and the Lucas Oil Products Qld Late Model Championship being run.
In the Dirt Modifieds, Garry Wathern was set to start the Feature from the pole after winning the six lap Dash with Rian Collier due to start alongside of him. Peter Britten, Brian Scott, Daniel Rowlands and Kevin Britten would have lined up in the next two rows after finishing three through six in the Dash.
Blair Granger led the qualifying points for the Late Model Title after the Heat races by a narrow three point margin from David Robertson with Russell Bonsey, Aaron Van Zeeland and Nathan Disney the top five when the rain stopped proceedings.
The next event at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway will be Saturday night March 10 with the annual Maroons v Blues Demolition Derby, the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship, the Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series and support class racing on the programme plus a huge Fireworks show for the kids.
