Twin Twenty Format For K R E 11

Twin twenty lap Feature races will be the order of the day when the eleventh Round of the 2011/12 KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship is contested this Saturday night at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane.
Competing drivers will tackle Time Trials and two qualifying Heat races before being lined up in order of their total qualifying points for the first twenty lap Feature, with the winner then drawing a six, eight or ten marble to determine the inversion for the second Feature. Combined points from both Features will then determine the Round winner and KRE points will be allocated accordingly.
Speedway Promoter John Kelly is all for the idea of mixing it up a little with the format.
"My view is you need to have some kind of balance with the format, it obviously needs to be consistent enough so the drivers, teams and fans have a good understanding of how it is going to work yet throw in something a little different every once in a while to spice things up a bit more and challenge the odds."

Saturday's event gets underway at approximately 4:30pm with pre-programme races followed by the main programme from 6:00pm. Adult general admission is just $25.00, kids five to twelve $6.00 and family passes $50.00.
