Polar Ice Series Headlines Archerfield Programme
Author : Archerfield Speedway
The Polar Ice Qld Midget Car Series, presented by Action Metal Recyclers, headlines this week's programme at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, a programme that also includes mix of open wheel and bodied car racing with Track Championship and Series races for Lightning Sprints, Wingless Sprints, Modlites, Ford v Holden, BIS Sedans and Outlaw Sedans.
Polar Ice points leader Brendan Palmer goes into Saturday night's fifth Round twenty-six markers ahead of Brock Dean with Grant Draney a further six points in arrears and well and truly in contention for the Series Title. Palmer's rise to the top of the standings has been boosted by back to back Feature wins at Archerfield and he will be chasing a hat-trick of victories when the Midgets line up on Saturday night. Palmer's worst result from the four Rounds to date is a fourth place finish in Round 2 back in October, a race that was by Draney.
This week's field is bolstered by the return to racing by Kiwi standout Michael Kendall. A five time New Zealand Midget Champion, Kendall has raced at Archerfield on numerous occasions in the past and knows his way to victory lane at the venue having set Fast Time and winning the Feature in November 2010 during the inaugural Polar Ice Series.
Adult general admission tickets are just $23.00 for this event with family passes for two adults and two children under twelve only $50.00. Gates open at 4:00pm, early racing from 4:30pm, main programme from 6:00pm.
