K R E Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship Resumes
Author : Archerfield Speedway

The 2011/12 KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship continues this weekend with Round 10 of the season long points chase the main event on Saturday night's programme at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway.

Gold Coast resident Bryan Mann has seen his once comfortable lead atop the standings be whittled away over the past few Rounds and he now finds himself embroiled in an increasingly tight, three way battle for the points lead with David Muir and Andrew Scheuerle. Just six races remain in the Championship which is scheduled to finish on May 26.

Muir in particular is on a charge, picking up his second win of the season on January 21 at Archerfield and moving into second place in the standings ahead of Scheuerle. Of the eight Rounds held to date, only Muir is a repeat winner and the Redlands youngster is undoubtedly in the best form of his short yet impressive career.

Another strong field of Sprintcar drivers have nominated to compete in this week's event, not only in pursuit of KRE points but also to maximise their track time ahead of the Qld Sprintcar Title which is scheduled for March 24 at the venue. The time-honoured State Championship event is also expected to draw a number of leading interstate competitors to Brisbane, including Robbie Farr who has won the past two Titles.
