The Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway promotional team, staff and volunteers congratulate Donny Schatz on his victory in the World Series Australian Sprintcar Open on Saturday night January 7, his fourth win from his last four starts in the prestigious event. We also thank Donny, Luch Monte and the entire Monte Motorsports team for playing their part in a very successful five nights of racing during our annual Sprintcar Summer Of Speed schedule.
Congratulations also to Robbie Farr and James McFadden who stood on the podium alongside Donny at the end of the gruelling fifty lap event, they too put on a great show for the fans and fell just short in the end to undoubtedly one of the world's very best drivers in Schatz.
To each and every driver who travelled to Brisbane to compete during our past five nights of racing, and of course all our Qld based drivers who race for us regularly in the KRE Race Engines Sprintcar Track Championship, thank you and we appreciate the high level of racing you all put on for us.
To our major track and event partners - Supercheap Auto, Ausdeck Patios And Roofing, Performance Wholesale, Capalaba Wreckers and KRE Race Engines - these events would not have been possible without your generous and on-going support. Fortunately we were blessed with a lot better weather than we were this time last year and subsequently we were able to showcase Sprintcar racing at its finest by a number of truly world class drivers. We even unearthed a few new and exciting talents along the way, especially in Rico Abreu who came to us from California as almost unknown in this country and leaves us today after endearing himself to fans both on and off the track.
Finally, to all our patrons who attended either one, two or even all five nights of the Sprintcar Summer Of Speed, thank you for your attendance and we certainly hope you enjoyed the shows as much as we enjoyed presenting them for you. There is plenty of racing yet to come before our season closes in June and you'll be happy to know we're already working on making next year's International races even bigger and better.
